The Warehouse & Yard Operations Manager directly manages branch operations roles and works with branch and regional management to support branch success.
The role focuses on warehouse and yard operations, teams, safe and efficient facilities, and alignment with company standards, policies, and goals.
Leadership and accountabilities
- Lead branch associates and leaders, build effective teams, and provide support, tools, and resources.
- Coach, mentor, and train employees; identify improvement needs and handle hiring, onboarding, and discipline as needed.
- Champion branch and regional safety programs, technological advancements, and continuous improvement.
- Manage teams covering receiving, shipping, inventory, fabrication, and customer service.
- Maintain clean, safe, efficient facilities and equipment and ensure SOPs and company policies are followed.
- Identify and execute cost reductions in overtime, trucking, material handling, and process flow.
- Develop operational strategies aligned with company objectives and promote technology such as RFID inventory management.
- Act as Manager on Duty in the Branch Manager’s absence; perform hands-on operations and special projects as needed.

- Proven success in daily business operations and ability to motivate and positively influence people.
- Strong business acumen and technical skills; ability to lead a team that includes managers and salespeople.
- Ability to understand, manage, and influence P&L to achieve company financial goals.
- Strong organizational, time-management, multitasking, and administrative skills.
Compensation
- Annual compensation is $88,500 to $95,000, based on experience.
- Bonus opportunities are available.
