An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced

Warehouse And Logistics Manager

to lead the operations of a busy central distribution centre in Port Moresby.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving efficiency, accuracy, safety, and performance across warehouse operations, inventory control, receiving, dispatch, and last-mile delivery.

The successful candidate will play a key role in improving systems, processes, team capability, and overall supply chain performance.

About the Role Reporting to senior operations leadership, you will oversee the day-to-day management of the distribution centre and lead a team across warehouse supervision, inventory control, picking, packing, logistics coordination, and transport support.

You will be responsible for ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, packed, and delivered accurately, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

A strong focus will be placed on inventory integrity, ERP discipline, process improvement, KPI management, and service delivery to multiple operating locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse, inventory, and logistics teams to deliver strong productivity, safety, and service outcomes.
  • Manage all distribution centre operations, including receiving, putaway, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and delivery coordination.
  • Improve warehouse layout, slotting, pick paths, workflows, and labour utilisation to maximise efficiency.
  • Drive inventory accuracy through effective cycle counts, stocktakes, variance investigation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Ensure ERP transactions are completed accurately and in real time across receipts, transfers, adjustments, picks, dispatch, and stock movements.
  • Produce and review operational reporting across stock accuracy, fulfilment, productivity, delivery performance, shrinkage, and cost efficiency.
  • Manage inbound deliveries, supplier discrepancies, documentation, quality checks, and timely system receipting.
  • Plan and optimise outbound deliveries, route schedules, load plans, dispatch documentation, and delivery performance.
  • Maintain strong controls to reduce stock loss, shrinkage, damage, and operational errors.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, hygiene, handling, storage, and relevant operating standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across people, process, systems, layout, cost, and service performance.
  • About You You will be a practical, hands-on logistics professional with strong experience managing warehouse or distribution centre operations in a high-volume environment.
  • You will be confident leading teams, using systems, interpreting data, and improving performance through structure, accountability, and clear processes.
  • You will ideally bring:
  • 5-7+ years’ experience in warehouse, distribution centre, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • Proven leadership experience managing operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong inventory control experience, including cycle counting, stocktakes, variance management, and reconciliation.
  • Experience using ERP, warehouse, inventory, or logistics systems for transactions, reporting, and operational control.
  • Strong understanding of receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and delivery coordination.
  • Practical experience with route planning, delivery scheduling, fleet coordination, or multi-drop logistics.
  • Strong Excel, reporting, and data analysis capability.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with exposure to 5S, lean principles, process improvement, or operational best practice.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and senior management.
  • A high level of attention to detail, commercial awareness, and commitment to safety and operational discipline.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in Papua New Guinea, the Pacific Islands, or another developing-market environment.
  • Experience with cold chain, temperature-controlled goods, perishables, or time-sensitive products.
  • Exposure to transport management systems, route optimisation tools, or advanced reporting dashboards.
  • Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement training.
