Role overview

Location and work pattern

• The role is listed as Newbury plus hybrid working.

Responsibilities

• Own Mobile Voice capabilities end to end and design, implement, review, and optimise network solutions.
• Provide technical leadership across IMS Core, VoLTE, VoWiFi, and 2G–5G networks; contribute to signalling, IMS, infrastructure, mediation, provisioning, and Release 4 elements.
• Create and govern High-Level Designs, Low-Level Designs, and development artefacts.
• Work with security specialists and cross-functional and vendor teams to deliver compliant, integrated solutions.
• Contribute to cloud migration, network modernisation, platform consolidation, and future technology roadmaps.
• Manage capacity, performance, availability, and reliability; drive automation, CI/CD, analytics, and continuous improvement.
• Review supplier proposals and technical solutions, support governance and quality assurance, and lead complex escalations and root-cause analysis.

Experience and technical requirements

• At least five years of mobile telecommunications experience.
• Strong IMS Core and mobile voice expertise, including VoLTE, VoWiFi, and 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks.
• Experience designing, reviewing, and governing complex telecom solutions in large organisations.
• Understanding of SS7 STP/SGW, SS7 Firewalls, DSC, and 5G Service Communication platforms.
• Hands-on knowledge of TAS, CSCF, SBC/SBG, BGF, MRFP, AFG/Ut Proxy, and ENUM/DNS.
• Experience with cloud, virtualised, and network infrastructure, including VMware, OpenStack, and Kubernetes.
• Experience contributing to network transformation, cloud migration, modernisation, or consolidation programmes.

• Commercial awareness of CAPEX, OPEX, delivery timelines, and business priorities.
