Veterinary Nurse

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Monitor and care for hospitalized patients, ensuring their comfort and recovery.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
• Prepare animals and equipment for diagnostic and surgical procedures.
• Collect and process laboratory samples for testing.
• Monitor anesthesia and patient vital signs during procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Educate pet owners on animal care, nutrition, medication administration, and post-treatment instructions.
• Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control standards are maintained throughout the facility.
• Assist with inventory management and stocking of medical supplies and equipment.
• Support emergency and critical care cases when required.

& Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Nursing, Veterinary Technology, Animal Health, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting.
• Knowledge of veterinary nursing practices, patient care, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Experience handling small animals; experience with large animals is an advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassionate approach to animal care and client service.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate medical records.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in surgical nursing and anesthesia monitoring.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures and diagnostic equipment.
• Knowledge of animal welfare regulations and best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary veterinary team.
