Veterinary Doctor's Assistant

Bay Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Doctor's Assistant to join our team and help create exceptional experiences for clients and patients during exams and outpatient visits.

Previous experience as a Doctor’s Assistant in a veterinary setting is required.

In this vital role, you’ll be the right hand to our veterinarians—assisting during exams, maintaining accurate and detailed SOAP notes, reviewing treatment plans and charges, preparing medications, and ensuring client questions are answered thoroughly and compassionately.

You’ll work closely with your team to carry out the doctor’s recommendations, keep appointments on track, and help ensure every visit is smooth and efficient for both pets and their people.

• Supporting efficient exam room and outpatient workflow to ensure exceptional patient and client care
• Maintaining accurate, thorough medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Supporting veterinarians during outpatient procedures and treatments while providing high-quality patient care
• Building positive relationships with clients through education, communication, and attentive service

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $ 22 - $25 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Saturdays are required.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3+ years of experience in a veterinary doctor's assistant required
• Proficiency in the following skills:
• Preventative Medicine
• Client Communication/Education
• Exam notes/scribe
