Role overview

Voyage and vessel operations

• Plan voyages from initial instructions through final redelivery and coordinate stowage plans with trade and chartering.
• Coordinate vessel cleaning instructions, optimize bunkers, appoint agents, and manage freight payments.
• Screen vessels for compliance and monitor loading and discharge with surveyors and port agents.
• Maintain voyage documentation and review claims, disputes, and calculations.

Stakeholder and team coordination

• Liaise with owners, charterers, brokers, traders, insurers, accounting, global execution, auditors, and other stakeholders.
• Work with origin and destination execution teams to support efficient execution and resolve issues.
• Coach trainees and new team members and provide feedback on costs against estimates.

Knowledge and skills

• Experience with IMOS and SOFTMAR integrated voyage handling is stated as a technical requirement.
• Understanding of contracts, charter parties, laytime or demurrage provisions, petroleum terminology, and commercial commodities is preferred.
• Knowledge of marine and terminal operations is preferred.
• The role calls for customer service, independent work under time pressure, attention to figures, problem solving, organization, and strong written and oral English.
• Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook competency is required.

Education and experience

• 5–7 years of vessel operations experience and relevant experience handling oil tankers, mainly vegetable-oil tankers.
• Graduation and sailing experience are required.
• Experience in a similar shared-services centre, high-volume transaction processing, workflow tools, document imaging, and strong customer service are listed as distinct advantages.
