About This Role

Position - Venue Cleaning and Waste Manager

Duration - 15th May till 1st March 2027

Job Purpose

The Venue Cleaning & Waste Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and supervising all cleaning, housekeeping, sanitation, and waste management activities across event venues before, during, and after events.

The role ensures that the venue maintains high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, environmental compliance, operational efficiency, and waste disposal in line with company standards, local municipality regulations, and sustainability objectives.

Venue Cleaning Operations

  • Develop and implement venue cleaning plans for pre-event, live-event, and post-event operations.
  • Supervise all cleaning staff, housekeeping teams, and outsourced cleaning contractors.
  • Ensure all public areas, VIP zones, washrooms, backstage areas, F&B zones, parking areas, and operational spaces remain clean and presentable.
  • Conduct routine inspections to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the event lifecycle.
  • Coordinate rapid response cleaning for spills, accidents, and emergency situations during live events.
  • Ensure adequate deployment of manpower based on event size, crowd capacity, and operational requirements.

Waste Management Operations

  • Manage end-to-end waste collection, segregation, recycling, transportation, and disposal activities.
  • Implement waste reduction and sustainability initiatives in line with environmental standards.
  • Ensure proper segregation of general waste, recyclable materials, hazardous waste, food waste, and operational waste.
  • Coordinate with municipality-approved waste disposal vendors and recycling partners.
  • Monitor waste disposal schedules and ensure compliance with local environmental regulations.
  • Maintain waste logs, disposal records, and sustainability reporting metrics.

Event Coordination

  • Work closely with event operations, production, facilities, security, catering, and HSE teams.
  • Participate in event planning meetings to assess cleaning and waste management requirements.
  • Prepare operational cleaning schedules aligned with event timelines.
  • Coordinate cleaning readiness prior to venue handover and event opening.
  • Ensure smooth cleaning transitions during event setup, live operations, and dismantling phases.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local municipality hygiene and environmental regulations.
  • Enforce proper usage of PPE and cleaning chemicals by all staff.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for cleaning personnel.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment and chemicals are stored and handled safely.
  • Support HSE audits, inspections, and incident investigations where required.

Team Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise cleaning supervisors, waste coordinators, and operational staff.
  • Prepare duty rosters, shift schedules, and manpower allocation plans.
  • Monitor staff productivity and operational performance.
  • Conduct training on cleaning standards, waste segregation, sustainability practices, and safety procedures.
  • Manage contractor performance and SLA compliance.

Inventory & Equipment Management

  • Monitor stock levels of cleaning consumables, chemicals, PPE, bins, and operational materials.
  • Ensure availability and maintenance of cleaning machinery and waste handling equipment.
  • Coordinate procurement requirements with the purchasing department.
  • Maintain inventory records and usage reports.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare operational reports including:
  • + Cleaning status reports
  • + Waste collection reports
  • + Recycling metrics
  • + Incident reports
  • + Sustainability reports
  • + Vendor performance reports
  • Maintain event-wise operational documentation and compliance records.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Facility Management, Hospitality, Environmental Management, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications in waste management, HSE, or facility operations are an advantage.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in venue operations, facility management, cleaning operations, or waste management within the events, hospitality, stadium, exhibition, or entertainment industry.
  • Experience managing large-scale events, exhibitions, concerts, festivals, or sports venues preferred.
  • Experience handling outsourced manpower and operational vendors.
