Role overview
Onsite in Dubai, the role owns the technical side of data protection and disaster recovery deals.
Works with account managers to discover customer needs, design backup/DR solutions, run proofs of concept, and present solutions to customer teams.
Architecture and Veeam delivery
- Assess backup, storage, and recovery needs; design solutions around RTO/RPO, retention, compliance, and physical, virtual, and hybrid-cloud workloads.
- Produce architecture diagrams, bills of materials, and deployment roadmaps; design replication, failover, and recovery testing.
- Architect Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Data Platform, VBO365, proxy/repository, SOBR, and backup-copy solutions.
- Deliver demonstrations and lead proof-of-concept engagements.
Resilience, infrastructure, and cloud
- Design immutable storage, hardened repositories, air-gapped recovery, and isolated ransomware recovery; advise on MFA, privileged access, and segmentation.
- Integrate storage including SAN, NAS, S3, Azure Blob, and MinIO; validate performance, plan capacity, and recommend backup appliances.
- Design AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud backup/DR; support migration and mobility; protect Microsoft 365 workloads while considering data sovereignty.
Pre-sales engagement
- Present technical solutions, prepare RFP/RFQ responses, address technical objections, and explain competitive advantages.
- Coordinate implementation handoffs with Professional Services and clarify architecture assumptions at customer kickoffs.
Required experience and skills
- 6–8 years in backup, disaster recovery, storage, or infrastructure engineering, including 2–3 years designing or deploying Veeam Backup & Replication.
- Strong enterprise backup knowledge; VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-V; SAN/NAS, object storage, and deduplication appliances.
- Practical immutable and ransomware-resilient backup design experience and working knowledge of at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience running discovery workshops, demonstrations, and proofs of concept; strong communication and presentation skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Veeam certification, especially VMCE, is strongly preferred; candidates working toward VMCE with practical experience may be considered.
- Preferred or bonus experience includes Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity, Dell PowerProtect, Microsoft 365 backup, Kasten, PowerShell or Python, channel environments, and Middle East/GCC/APAC markets.
