KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate OD and Centerless Grinding Machine and Equipment
  • Set up CNC grinding machines and make required offsets and adjustments.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and tool specifications accurately.
  • Program and operate grinding equipment to produce tools to specification.
  • Inspect tools using visual inspection methods and precision measuring equipment.
  • Verify product quality throughout the manufacturing process and on finished tools.
  • Identify and communicate quality concerns to programmers, engineers, or supervisors.
  • Perform daily machine checks and basic equipment care to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain a safe, organized work area and follow safety procedures
  • Support continuous improvement and cross-training
  • Equipment Operation
  • Operate and maintain a variety of manufacturing equipment, including:
  • Cutoff machines
  • Grinding equipment
  • Manual and CNC lathes
  • Brazing equipment
  • Blast and polishing equipment
  • Cleaning systems
  • Laser marking equipment
  • Quality & Inspection
  • Perform measurements and inspections using precision measuring tools.
  • Verify products meet customer and engineering specifications.
  • Identify and report quality concerns or nonconforming products.
  • SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
  • Follow all safety procedures and plant policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to use measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment and material handling devices.
  • Preferred
  • Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience.
  • Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • POSITION DETAILS:
  • 1st shift Daytime / Full-Time
  • Pay Range: Starts at $17.00 per hour (Pay based on skills, experience, and qualifications)
  • Work Authorization & Location Information
  • This position is based on site at our Westminster, SC manufacturing facility.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and throughout their employment.
  • Sandvik is unable to provide current or future employment visa sponsorship for this position.
  • Remote, hybrid, and international work arrangements are not available for this role.
  • Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.
