UPHOLSTERER

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, and install fabric, leather, foam, and padding materials.
• Repair and restore sofas, chairs, beds, cushions, and other upholstered furniture.
• Remove old upholstery and replace damaged materials.
• Operate upholstery tools and equipment such as sewing machines, staplers, and cutting tools.
• Read and interpret design drawings, measurements, and customer requirements.
• Ensure proper fitting, finishing, and appearance of upholstered products.
• Conduct quality checks on finished work.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and company policies.
• Coordinate with supervisors, carpenters, and interior fit-out teams when necessary.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Upholsterer or similar role.
• Knowledge of upholstery materials, fabrics, leather, foam, and furniture structures.
• Ability to use upholstery tools and sewing machines.
• Good measuring, cutting, and stitching skills.
• Attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Physical ability to lift and move furniture items.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills

• Furniture restoration and repair experience.
• Basic carpentry knowledge.
• Time management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and production targets.

Working Conditions

• Work may be performed in workshops, factories, construction sites, or customer locations.
• May require standing for long periods and handling heavy materials or furniture.
