About This Role
Primary Requirement — Non-Negotiable
▸ Must hold a current, active FTA Tax Agent Registration (listed on TAAN — Tax Agent Register maintained by the FTA)
▸ Registration must be in good standing with no suspensions, penalties, or conditions attached
▸ Must be willing to be listed as the registered Tax Agent for our firm Consulting on the FTA portal
▸ Must maintain and renew the Tax Agent licence for the duration of employment
Candidates who do not hold an active FTA Tax Agent registration will not be considered, regardless of experience or qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
1.
FTA Tax Agent Licence & Firm Registration
▸ Maintain our firm consulting listing on the FTA Tax Agent Register under your licence
▸ Ensure the firm remains compliant with all FTA Tax Agent regulations and code of conduct
▸ Manage annual renewal of the Tax Agent registration and associated documentation
▸ Act as the named Tax Agent for the firm in all official FTA correspondence and portal activities
2. Client Portfolio Management
▸ Manage Tax Agent appointments for all clients on the EmaraTax portal (FTA Portal)
▸ Oversee filing of VAT returns, Corporate Tax returns, and other submissions on behalf of clients
▸ Submit voluntary disclosures, reconsideration requests, and respond to FTA queries
▸ Handle client de-registrations, amendments, and exception applications
▸ Represent clients in FTA audit processes and correspondence
3. Client Relationship & Communication
▸ Serve as the primary point of contact for all clients on tax matters
▸ Communicate filing deadlines, compliance requirements, and regulatory updates to clients
▸ Conduct client onboarding — collect TRN details, trade licences, KYC documents, and power of attorney
▸ Advise clients on VAT, Corporate Tax, and Excise Tax implications relevant to their business
▸ Maintain professional relationships with business owners, CFOs, and senior management.
4. Compliance Oversight
▸ Ensure all client filings are accurate, complete, and submitted within FTA deadlines
▸ Maintain organised, audit-ready records for every client
▸ Monitor FTA updates, public clarifications, and regulatory changes and apply them to client matters
▸ Identify compliance gaps in client accounts and advise on remediation
5. Internal Operations
▸ Maintain a comprehensive deadline tracker covering the entire client portfolio
▸ Develop and improve internal SOPs for FTA portal workflows
▸ Coordinate with accounts, legal, and third-party auditors as needed
▸ Train and mentor junior staff or assistants as the team grows
Qualifications & Licensing
▸ Active FTA Tax Agent Registration (TAAN) — mandatory, no exceptions
▸ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field
▸ Minimum 4 years of relevant tax or accounting experience
▸ Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA, or equivalent — preferred
Experience
▸ Proven experience using the EmaraTax portal for VAT and Corporate Tax filings
▸ Prior experience working as a Tax Agent or in a UAE tax agency/accounting firm
▸ Familiarity with UAE VAT Law and Corporate Tax Law
▸
Experience
managing a portfolio of SME or corporate clients independently
▸
Experience
handling FTA audits, penalties, voluntary disclosures, or disputes is a strong advantage
Language Requirements
▸ English — Full professional proficiency (mandatory): all client reports, emails, and FTA correspondence
▸ Arabic — Professional working proficiency (mandatory): FTA portal is bilingual; many clients and all FTA official communications are in Arabic
▸ Hindi / Urdu — Conversational or professional level (preferred): a significant portion of our client base is South Asian business owners
▸ Additional languages (Eg, Malayalam) are a plus given Dubai's diverse business community
