Overview
The New York Foundling is a New York-based nonprofit supporting children, families, and individuals through programs focused on stability, strength, independence, and wellbeing.

Responsibilities
- Host individual tutoring sessions and submit timely, detailed documentation so youth are met at least twice per month and academic goals and milestones are addressed.
- Communicate with students, caregivers, stakeholders, and staff about attendance, service plans, and comprehensive services.
- Create individualized tutoring plans that are culturally competent and academically rigorous.
- Review content, IEPs, and additional supports to support students holistically.
- Attend coaching, departmental meetings, case reviews, and trainings from HR, ACS, and partner organizations.
- Advocate for students, track academic progress, and advise on high school and college applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a U.S.-accredited educational institution or credential evaluation for a non-U.S. institution.
- 1–2 years of direct experience working with students in a school, extracurricular, or community-based setting.
- Ability to tutor multiple courses, including core academic subjects and remedial skill building.
- Strong communication, listening, and written communication skills.
- Time management, task prioritization, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.
- Dedication to professional development and a strong commitment to safety.
