Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Writer role based in the Pune Division.
The Writer will develop clear, compelling written content for reports, articles, blogs, newsletters, social media, and educational materials that support SAFEWay Africaās health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
Day-to-day responsibilities include researching assigned topics, interviewing subject matter experts, drafting and revising content, and ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with organizational priorities and tone.
The Writer will collaborate with program, communications, and research teams to translate technical information into accessible language for diverse audiences, including communities, partners, and stakeholders.
The role also involves proofreading and editing materials, supporting campaign messaging, and contributing to content planning for advocacy, training, and outreach projects.
Qualifications
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Experience creating articles, reports, and educational materials, preferably in public health, safety, development, or nonprofit sectors.
- Ability to conduct thorough research, synthesize complex information, and fact-check content for accuracy and reliability.
- Familiarity with content planning and basic communications or outreach strategies to support campaigns and programs.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English; additional local language skills are an advantage.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and engage respectfully with community stakeholders.
- Proficiency with standard office and writing tools (e.g., word processing, shared document platforms); basic knowledge of social media or digital publishing is a plus.
- Bachelorās degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Demonstrated interest in health, safety, environment, or community development
