Treasury Assistant

Position summary

Treasury operations and controls

• Support cash management, payment processing, bank reconciliations, cash reporting, and treasury administration.
• Monitor accounts and cash positions; prepare treasury and liquidity reports and assist with short-term cash forecasts.
• Process domestic and international payments, track execution, and resolve issues with banks.
• Maintain accurate records, banking documents, and databases in accordance with internal policies and approval procedures.
• Support month-end, audit, and treasury reporting activities and identify control and efficiency improvements.

Banking and CEMAC support

• Assist with local and international banking relationships and prepare documents for account openings, amendments, and closures.
• Coordinate KYC reviews and bank compliance requests; maintain mandates and authorized signatory records.
• Support treasury, payment, and cash management activities across CEMAC countries and coordinate with local finance teams.
• Maintain understanding of BEAC foreign exchange requirements and follow up on regulatory approvals and documents for international transfers.
• Monitor regional banking developments and regulatory changes.

Systems and process support

• Support treasury management systems and banking platforms and maintain banking master data and treasury records.
• Assist with testing payment files and banking interfaces.
• Participate in treasury projects, process improvement, system implementation, and automation initiatives.

Experience and education

• 2–5 years of experience in Treasury, Cash Management, Banking Operations, or Finance.
• Hands-on experience with BEAC exchange control requirements, international payment documentation, and commercial banks in the Republic of Congo.
• Experience with payment processing, reconciliations, and cash management; familiarity with electronic banking platforms and SWIFT payments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, or Business Administration.
• Experience with Central African banks is highly desirable; multinational corporate experience is advantageous.

Languages and capabilities

• Fluency in French and English is mandatory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, analytical and numerical ability, communication, and problem-solving.
• Ability to manage priorities and deadlines and work independently and in a team with integrity and confidentiality.

Preferred knowledge

• Understanding of the CEMAC banking environment, BEAC foreign exchange regulations, and CFA Franc (XAF) payment processes.
• Knowledge of banking practices in the Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Gabon, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, or the Central African Republic.
• Experience with regional banks is preferred; examples listed include BGFI Bank, Ecobank, Société Générale, UBA, Standard Bank, Rawbank, Crédit du Congo, Banque Postale du Congo, and Access Bank.
• Familiarity with ERP and treasury management systems is preferred; treasury-related qualifications are an advantage.
