Transportation Analyst I

Location and workplace

• The position is based in Stone Mountain and is 100% onsite.

Responsibilities

• Research freight costs and classifications, delivery methods, and schedules to reduce delivery costs and support customer satisfaction.
• Maintain freight cost, transportation network, and carrier databases; assist with transportation rate negotiations.
• Analyze transportation costs, equipment availability, and service levels; conduct cost studies to identify savings.
• Support monthly carrier performance and transportation reports, freight reporting, and reconciliation.
• Audit freight invoices, identify discrepancies, and help resolve issues.
• Use Excel to organize, analyze, and report transportation data.
• May coordinate foreign merchandise production, quotas, customs documentation, and transportation, and help resolve customs delays.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of transportation modes and their relative costs and benefits, plus a basic understanding of transportation and logistics concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, sorting, analysis, and reporting.
• PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic data analysis, and TMS familiarity are preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills; effective communication; ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Compensation

• Salaried exempt role with a starting annual salary range of $48,000 to $63,000, depending on market and candidate qualifications.
• Eligible for an annual bonus under the applicable company plan; not eligible for overtime.
