And with that comes the opportunity to help redefine what our industry looks like, and what you want from your career.

Job Description:

As an Assistant Manager in our Transfer Pricing team, you’ll help multinational clients set, document and defend the prices they charge between their own group companies. You’ll lead pieces of client work, review the work of others, and build the experience to step up to Manager.

You will:

Deliver client work

Advise clients on transfer pricing policies for goods, services, financing and intellectual property

Prepare and review transfer pricing documentation, including master files, local files and country-by-country reporting

Carry out and review benchmarking studies and economic analyses

Draft and review intercompany agreements

Support clients through tax authority enquiries and, where relevant, advance pricing agreements

Keep up to date with changes in UK and international transfer pricing rules, and explain what they mean for clients

Lead and develop others

Plan and co-ordinate your own workload and that of junior colleagues

Review work prepared by associates and give clear, constructive feedback

Coach and mentor colleagues to help them grow

Work with clients and colleagues

Build strong relationships with client finance and tax teams

Work with colleagues in other tax specialisms and with Grant Thornton member firms around the world on cross-border projects

Keep work on track against timescales and budgets, and raise issues early

Help us grow

Support the preparation of proposals and presentations for prospective clients

Contribute to thought leadership, such as articles and client briefings

Build your network inside and outside the firm

Knowing you’re right for us

You’ll need:

Experience of transfer pricing work in a professional services firm or in-house tax team

Working knowledge of the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines and UK transfer pricing rules

Experience of preparing transfer pricing documentation and benchmarking analyses

Experience of reviewing the work of others

Strong analytical and Excel skills

Excellent written and spoken communication skills for explaining technical issues clearly

Good organisational skills and the ability to manage several projects at once

A proactive approach and a willingness to get stuck in

It would be great if you had some of the following, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box. We’ll help you develop along the way:

A relevant professional qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CTA or ATT, or a degree in economics, finance or a related subject

Experience of working with international colleagues on cross-border projects

Experience of supporting proposals or pitches

Knowing we’re right for you

Our culture thrives on the contributions of all our people. We never settle for what’s easy. We look beyond it to do the right thing, for everyone.

You’ll work with leaders who are interested in you and everything you bring. The things that set you apart matter to us, and you’re free to bring your whole self to work and pursue your passions inside and outside it.

Beyond the job

Life is more than work. We’re happy to look at flexible working options for all our roles, and we’ll always do our best to keep your work and life in balance.

Your impact can go well beyond your day job, from secondments to fundraising for local charities. It’s grounded in our values: purposefully driven, actively curious, and candid but kind.

We’re looking for people who want to contribute, spark fresh ideas and go beyond expectations. People who want to proudly do what’s right, for the firm, our clients, our people and themselves.
