Role Description
The Traffic Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi, responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of vehicles, equipment, and materials to and from project sites.
The role involves managing daily traffic operations, preparing schedules and routing plans, and ensuring compliance with local traffic and safety regulations.
The Traffic Manager will collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, logistics teams, and external partners to align traffic plans with project timelines and site constraints.
Day-to-day tasks include monitoring real-time traffic conditions, resolving bottlenecks, optimizing routes, and updating stakeholders on delivery and dispatch status.
The role also involves maintaining documentation, preparing reports on traffic performance and incidents, and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and safety.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in traffic management, transportation coordination, logistics, or related fields, preferably within construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple schedules in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of local traffic regulations, road safety standards, and permitting requirements in Abu Dhabi or the UAE.
- Proficiency with traffic management software, GPS/telematics tools, and standard office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, project management tools).
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate with internal teams, contractors, authorities, and suppliers.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, including incident response, risk assessment, and decision-making under time pressure.
- Attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills for schedules, permits, incident logs, and compliance documentation.
- Ability to work on-site and adapt to changing project needs, including occasional extended or irregular hours when required by operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, transportation, logistics, or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications in traffic or road safety management are an advantage.
