Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Traffic Engineer who will be responsible for monitoring the performance and configuring the Smart Mobility Platform and all connected devices to ensure continuous optimization of the Road Network for the benefit of all users, including public transport, private vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians.

Initially, the System Supplier will lead optimization activities, with a planned gradual transfer of these responsibilities to the Traffic Engineer.

The ideal candidate should have the ability to multi-task and manage various tasks, and good communication. Excellent organisation, time management and prioritizing skills.

This role is part of the operations team and will be based in Riyadh, KSA.

The hiring for this role is subject to contract award.

Key Accountabilities

• Monitor the Smart Mobility Platform and its modules
• Monitor the KSP Road Network Performance and ensure it is continually optimised through adjusting Response Plans and Signal Plans to best satisfy all user types (e.g. public transport, cars and active travel users)
• Develop and lead the Fault Reporting Process; monitor faults raised by users, track through to resolution with the System Suppliers
• Collaborate with internal Stakeholders to support the development of Transport Management Plans; ensure the Platform is configured to support the Planned Events; participate in any debriefs
• Monitor system performance, track and record metrics, create and raise routine reports
• Monitor the System Supplier performance and support the Supervisor and Line Manager’s engagement with the Supplier

Specific Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject
• Project Management certification
• Membership of a professional body supported by continued evidence of professional development
• Experience with Intelligent Transport Systems implementation, optimisation and support
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, commonly used applications, and the ability to learn new systems and processes
• Good standard of the English Language (verbal and written)
• Awareness and understanding of common ITS protocols (e.g. NTCIP, ONVIF, TMDD) Understanding the use and application of common traffic analysis tools
• Understanding of the application of traffic operations principles
• Ability to use own initiative to identify issues, and apply corrective actions
• Application of working within SHC (notably SHC 306, 601 and 602)
