Due to our continuous growth and the exciting launch of our brand-new warehouse facility (Jebel Ali Free Zone), we are looking for a traffic coordinator to join our expanding team.
Your role and responsibilities
- As our Traffic coordinator, you will oversee daily transport operations, manage exceptions, and drive compliance.
- Your main focus areas:
- Free Zone Customs & Compliance: Take ownership of Gate-In / Gate-Out (GI/GO) customs management, ensuring that customs declarations on receipt, duties, and stock-out declarations are fully compliant with Free Zone regulations. Maintain daily contact with customs brokers.
- Regional Export Coordination: Oversee and optimize complex export processes to countries across the GCC region, ensuring all specific regional documentation and compliance standards are met.
- Shipment & Document Management: Ensure all shipments are dispatched as planned with the right carriers. Guarantee correct outbound data manifestation, complete transport documentation, and accurate label generation via carrier software.
- Cost Control & Claims: Request spot quotes for ad-hoc shipments to maximize cost-effectiveness. Register inbound shipments to track landed costs, ensure correct transport invoicing (including credit note management), and recover costs for damaged or delayed goods.
- Carrier Management & KPIs: Track transport performance and financial figures (OTIF, Linehaul timeliness, etc.). Organize regular operational reviews with key carriers and participate in quarterly Corporate Traffic QBRs.
- Continuous Improvement: Ensure internal operational work instructions are fully applied, propose optimization suggestions (1WOW), and participate in transport-related projects (e.g., carrier implementation, system changes).
- Team Leadership: Actively manage, motivate, and support a small team (1–2 traffic/logistics administrators) to ensure a skilled and efficient workforce.
- How to succeed / Your profile
- Proven experience in transport coordination, traffic management, or freight forwarding, preferably within a Free Zone environment.
- In-depth knowledge of GI/GO customs procedures and export regulations specific to the GCC region.
- Strong analytical skills with a sharp eye for data quality, KPI monitoring, and transport cost control.
- A natural problem-solver who thrives in exception management and rapid conflict resolution.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English.
