We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented professional to support the launch and ramp-up of a new trading desk focused on soft commodities (notably cocoa, grains, and oilseeds).
This role will be pivotal in ensuring smooth trade execution and operational support as the desk begins commercial activity.
The ideal candidate will be execution-driven with a strong understanding of trade flows, logistics, and contract follow-through.
The position require essential skills , able to work independently and closely work with traders for all trade execution.
Trade Management
- Support the execution of physical trades across dry bulk and containerized commodities (mainly cocoa, grains, oilseeds)
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely execution and risk mitigation
- Troubleshoot issues related to execution delays, payment discrepancies, and operational bottlenecks
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and trade documentation
- Provide support on commercial activities such as rate negotiation and market follow-up where needed
- Contribute to the operational setup and structure of the new desk, establishing best practices as the platform grows
Cargo And Vessel Management
- Oversee documentation, contract fulfillment, shipment scheduling, and payment terms
- Issue and manage all local customs ,import , export and domestics documentation.
- Appoint inspectors for Quality and Quantity as per contractual requirements and other measures/analyses requested by traders
- Clear the vessel with terminal and counterparties + vetting process through Charterers.
- Process purchase, sale and services invoices and maintain companies ETRM system up to date.
Requirements
- At least 8 years in trading operations in agricultural commodities
- Ability to maintain control and performance under stress and within critical timelines to achieve smooth execution
- Ability to communicate well and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organization skills and ability to manage priorities
- University Degree or equivalent qualification in respective field
- English, Russian/Spanish is a plus
