Job Description (General Summary)

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit and weld fabricated parts to construct weldments consistent with engineering drawings; document and report issues/deviations affecting form, fit or function
• Verify weldment dimensions using basic measuring tools to insure design tolerances are met
• Be able to adjust welding equipment to effectively weld different types/thicknesses of material
• Maintain all welding equipment and hand tools in working condition
• Use computer terminal to issue materials, record/apply shop order labor and clock in/out each day

Requirements

• Must have a High School or vocational school diploma
• Minimum 2 years TIG welding experience
• Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and bill of materials
• Must be a “self-managed” team player
• Must be fluent in both written and spoken English
• Must have basic Math skills and have the ability to accurately read/use a tape measure
• Must be able to successfully use a computer to access manufacturing shop floor control system
• Must be able to identify and operate basic hand tools and small power tools
• Must be willing to crosstrain in other work centers if/as needed
• Must have a passion for doing a job well
• Able to work overtime; some limited travel may be required
• Must be able to perform essential job requirements in the Functional Job Description for this position, including lifting 50 pounds
