Thread Cells Operation Manager

  • Lead and manage multiple Threading Cells: satellite machining and inspection cells located within customer manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure Threading Cells operational excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure daily production, quality, and delivery performance meet Vallourec standards while complying with local regulations and customer-specific requirements.
  • Provide hands‑on leadership combining technical expertise, operational control, administrative responsibilities, and direct supervision of Cell Leaders, CNC Machinists, and QC Inspectors.
  • Represent Vallourec operationally at each customer‑embedded location, maintaining strong professional relationships and ensuring seamless coordination between on‑site teams, central operations, and customers.

Operational Leadership & Performance

  • Oversee the daily execution of machining, threading, inspection, and finishing activities across all satellite locations.
  • Ensure adherence to production plans, quality standards, and on‑time delivery targets.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs related to productivity, OEE, scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
  • Coordinate manpower allocation, shift plans, and workload balancing across sites.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce Vallourec’s HSE policies and ensure all shop activities comply with the company’s Safety and Loss Prevention standards.
  • Conduct or coordinate safety audits, Safety moments, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety requirements of each host customer facility.

Quality Assurance & Process Control

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant quality requirements, including premium threading specifications and international standards.
  • Support QC Inspectors in resolving non‑conformities, reviewing inspection reports, and performing root cause analysis.
  • Participate in Quality Management System (QMS) reviews and ensure proper document control and traceability
  • Participate in operational, financial, and quality management reviews.

Customer Interface

  • Act as the operational point of contact for customer stakeholders at each embedded shop.
  • Handle escalations, communicate performance status, align expectations, and support customer audits.
  • Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship that reinforces Vallourec’s reputation.

People Management & Development

  • Directly supervise Cell Leaders and oversee day‑to‑day activities of CNC and QC teams.
  • Define qualification requirements, skill matrices, and individual development plans.
  • Organize and coordinate technical and HSE training programs.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support succession planning.

Equipment, Assets & Maintenance

  • Ensure proper utilization, preventive maintenance, and care of CNC machines, inspection gauges, tools, and fixtures.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams and suppliers to ensure high equipment availability and reliability.

Continuous Improvement, Lean & Cost Control

  • Monitor 5S within each Thread Cell and lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives, waste reduction, and visual management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce scrap, rework, and cycle times.
  • Maintain operational and capital budget performance for each satellite operations.

Education, Language & Experience

  • Post-graduate engineering degree or equivalent in addition to first successful related experience in Operation management. Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years related technical and operational experience.
  • 5-year supervisory experience in manufacturing, production control, engineering or quality, preferably within oilfield equipment scope.
  • Successful experience in production management of similar sizes (5 to 50 people).
  • Ability to develop and digest a wide variety of production and management documentation.
  • Premium joint threading
  • English: Required. Arabic is a plus.
