Job Title : Testing Engineer – ZATCA & VAT Compliance
Role Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented
Testing Engineer
with strong expertise in
ZATCA regulations and VAT compliance
to support the validation of a system being developed for the Saudi market.
This role is critical in ensuring that VAT calculations, e-invoicing (FATOORA), and tax reporting logic are fully compliant with regulatory requirements before production release.
Core Responsibilties
- Validate VAT calculation logic across scenarios (standard, zero-rated, and exempt).
- Ensure compliance with ZATCA e-invoicing (FATOORA)
requirements
- , including invoice structure and reporting standards.
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases covering tax scenarios and edge cases.
- Perform
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- and functional testing aligned with Saudi VAT laws.
- Validate integrations with financial, billing, and ERP systems for accurate tax handling.
- Review invoices and reports to ensure correctness of VAT amounts, tax codes, and compliance fields.
- Collaborate with finance, business, and technical teams to ensure accurate tax rule implementation.
- Identify, document, and track defects related to tax logic and ensure resolution before go-live.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum
- 5+ years
- of experience in software testing (
- preferably in banking, finance, or ERP systems
- ).
- Strong understanding of
- ZATCA regulations
- and the Saudi VAT framework.
- Hands-on experience in testing
- e-invoicing (FATOORA)
- systems.
- Experience in
- UAT, functional testing
- , and financial data validation.
- Familiarity with
- API testing
- and system integration validation is a plus.
- Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail, especially in financial calculations.
Qualifications
- Experience working on Saudi market compliance projects.
- Knowledge of tax reporting and audit validation processes.
- ISTQB or relevant testing certification (preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights.
