Opportunity

New leadership position coordinating delivery across a regulated business’s Technology & BI function.

The role reports to the Head of Technology & BI and covers Infrastructure, Data & BI, Software Development, Technology Change, and wider initiatives.

Direct reports are an Infrastructure Manager, Data Analyst & Reporting Specialist, and Senior C#/.NET Software Engineer.

This is not a hands-on technical leadership position; specialists retain ownership of their technical areas.

The role is based in Chorley, initially full-time in the office for six months, then hybrid with three office days and two days working from home.

Permanent, full-time role; stated pay is £45,000–£55,000 per year.

Delivery and planning

  • Own and coordinate the overall Technology delivery portfolio, including active and planned work, deadlines, resources, and dependencies.
  • Own the departmental roadmap and delivery plan and translate strategy into achievable workstreams.
  • Establish processes for incoming projects and change requests; prioritise against business needs, capacity, and commitments.
  • Coordinate delivery across Infrastructure, Data & BI, Software Development, and Change.
  • Define initiative ownership, scope, outcomes, and delivery dates.
  • Report delivery status to senior stakeholders and identify risks, dependencies, and resource constraints.
  • Facilitate prioritisation decisions when demand exceeds available capacity; support annual and quarterly planning.

Governance and operating model

  • Introduce consistent project governance and delivery methodologies.
  • Improve how technology requests enter the department and are assessed, prioritised, allocated, monitored, and implemented.
  • Develop the Technology departmental operating model while preserving specialist technical ownership.

Experience and capabilities

  • Experience managing or coordinating technology delivery across multiple workstreams and strong portfolio, programme, project, or delivery management experience.
  • Experience building and maintaining technology roadmaps and translating technology strategy into deliverable plans.
  • Strong prioritisation, capacity planning, governance, reporting, stakeholder management, organisational, and planning skills.
  • Experience managing competing business requirements and working with specialists across Software, Infrastructure, Data, or Change.
  • Ability to communicate with senior leadership, constructively challenge priorities, and understand technical work without being the technical expert.
  • Experience improving delivery processes and operating models.
  • Experience in an FCA-regulated, financial services, insurance, or similarly regulated environment is advantageous.

Working pattern

  • Full-time office attendance for the initial six months, followed by a hybrid pattern of three days in the office and two days from home.

Pay and benefits

  • Pay is £45,000–£55,000 per year, with the advert stating up to £55,000.
  • Benefits include free parking and on-site parking.
