Scope includes compute, storage, networks, virtualization, operating platforms, hosting, cloud and hybrid environments, standards, lifecycle management, resilience, and modernization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop current- and target-state architecture, transition roadmaps, standards, reference architectures, principles, patterns, and approved technology portfolios.
  • Assess infrastructure capacity, utilization, performance, availability, lifecycle, obsolescence, end-of-life risks, technical debt, and modernization opportunities.
  • Design on-premises, private, public, and hybrid architectures, including network, server, storage, virtualization, container, and platform decisions.
  • Define backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, high availability, fault tolerance, monitoring, observability, capacity management, and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate across architecture and technology teams; support platform selection, vendor evaluation, technical assessments, reviews, and architecture governance.
  • Support data center modernization, consolidation, migration, and transformation; identify architecture risks, constraints, dependencies, and mitigations.

Required experience

  • Minimum 10 years in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, network engineering, cloud, data center, or related technology disciplines.
  • At least 5 years in Infrastructure Architecture, Technology Architecture, or a comparable senior design role.
  • Demonstrated experience designing complex enterprise infrastructure environments and working across data centers, compute, storage, virtualization, networking, cloud, and hybrid architectures.
  • Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure modernization, migration, transformation, or consolidation programs.
  • Experience working with technology vendors, infrastructure and security teams, and senior stakeholders.

Frameworks, tools, and technology

  • Preferred frameworks and methods include TOGAF, ArchiMate, ITIL, COBIT, cloud architecture frameworks, well-architected principles, resilience design, and DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
  • Preferred tools and exposure include Bizzdesign, Sparx Enterprise Architect, Orbus/iServer, ARIS, VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, data center technologies, networking, security, monitoring, and observability platforms.

Preferred qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • TOGAF and cloud architecture certifications are highly desirable; relevant networking, virtualization, infrastructure, data center, or platform certifications are advantageous.

Personal attributes

Strong analytical and systems-thinking ability; balances resilience, performance, security, scalability, and cost in pragmatic designs.

Strong communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, cross-domain collaboration, and attention to infrastructure quality and operational practicality.

Consulting mindset and ability to support complex transformation programs.
