Role overview

Own requirements for shipping and brokerage platforms and their integrations at Purolator.

Work across business and technology teams, leading discovery and stakeholder alignment through delivery.

This is a hybrid role based in Mississauga, Ontario, following the Head Office in-office policy.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business, product, engineering, QA, operations, and vendors to map workflows and define practical solutions.
  • Own requirements through delivery, documenting user stories, acceptance criteria, functional and non-functional requirements, assumptions, decisions, and change history.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to align stakeholders and clarify requirements.
  • Analyze REST APIs, integration contracts, data flows, synchronous and asynchronous processes, error handling, and system dependencies.
  • Support backlog refinement, Agile ceremonies, testing, and release preparation; resolve delivery questions with developers and stakeholders.
  • Maintain requirements, traceability, assumptions, decisions, open questions, and project knowledge in Jira and Confluence.
  • Apply AI tools where useful for analysis and documentation, validating results before relying on them.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs and identify improvements to team practices.

Experience and qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on technical business analysis experience owning requirements and delivering changes to business-critical applications.
  • Sound understanding of REST APIs, integrations, data flows, and synchronous versus asynchronous processing.
  • Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements that developers and testers can use, including error scenarios.
  • Practical experience with Jira, Confluence, Agile and Scrum, including backlog refinement.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills; sound judgment and ability to navigate ambiguity independently.
  • Experience using AI tools in business analysis and checking their output.
  • Experience in logistics, courier, freight, supply chain, brokerage, customs, or cross-border shipping is an asset; integration-heavy enterprise systems or IT service management/tiered support experience is also an asset.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • English proficiency is required for frequent communications with stakeholders.

Workplace

  • Hybrid role based in Mississauga, Ontario, following the Head Office in-office policy.
