Technician - Base Maintenance

Role overview

Maintenance duties

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance; inspect, service, repair, replace, and troubleshoot aircraft systems and components.
• Assist with base maintenance, heavy checks, modifications, defect rectification, and aircraft maintenance programs.
• Read maintenance manuals, parts catalogues, wiring diagrams, and technical documents; follow approved instructions and procedures.
• Conduct functional checks and operational tests; accurately record work, inspections, defects, and corrective actions.
• Support licensed engineers and report aircraft defects, damage, abnormalities, and safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain tools, equipment, work areas, tool control, equipment checks, and calibration verification.
• Follow component handling, safety, quality, environmental, human-factors, and FOD-prevention procedures.
• Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Stores, and maintenance teams to support aircraft release.
• Support aircraft recovery, defect rectification, investigations, modifications, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Previous aircraft maintenance, base or line maintenance, aviation engineering, or related experience is preferred.
• Technical knowledge of aircraft mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, structural, or avionics systems.
• Ability to understand manuals, technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of maintenance practices, inspection, component replacement, defect rectification, safety, and quality procedures.
• Familiarity with AMM, SRM, IPC, MEL, CDL, engineering orders, and task cards is an advantage.
• Ability to use maintenance tools, test equipment, ground-support equipment, and workshop machinery safely.
• Strong troubleshooting, attention to detail, procedural compliance, documentation, and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime and work in hangars and other demanding environments.
• Relevant maintenance training, technical certification, qualification, CAAM Aircraft Maintenance Licence, or aircraft-type experience is preferred or advantageous.
