Technical & Training Manager

is responsible for leading all technical operations, diagnostic support, and training activities for the GEELY brand across the dealership network.

The role ensures that workshop teams maintain the highest standards of technical competence, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction through effective technical support, continuous training, and adherence to manufacturer standards.

The incumbent will serve as the primary technical authority for the brand, driving technical excellence, facilitating knowledge transfer, implementing training programs, and supporting workshop operations to achieve operational and business objectives.

Technical Leadership & Support

  • Act as the highest technical authority for GEELY within the organization.
  • Responsible for training all technical staff, including technicians, service advisors, team leaders, QCs, and controllers, as per GEELY defined training schedule.
  • Acts as the key bridge between GEELY and AGMC, ensuring alignment on all technical and training requirements
  • Provide advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting support for complex vehicle issues.
  • Support workshop teams in resolving technical cases efficiently and effectively.
  • Liaise directly with GEELY manufacturer technical support teams on escalated cases.
  • Analyze recurring technical issues and implement corrective actions to reduce repeat repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer technical standards, repair procedures, and service bulletins.
  • Monitor and improve workshop repair quality and first-time fix rates.
  • Review technical reports and warranty cases to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Training & Development

  • Develop and implement annual technical training plans aligned with GEELY standards and business requirements.
  • Conduct technical and non-technical training programs for service advisors, technicians, workshop controllers, and technical staff.
  • Identify training needs through competency assessments, performance evaluations, and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate manufacturer-led training programs and certifications.
  • Track employee training records, certifications, and competency levels.
  • Ensure technicians achieve and maintain required certification levels.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop training materials, technical guides, and workshop reference documentation.

Workshop Performance Management

  • Support workshop management in achieving productivity, efficiency, and utilization targets.
  • Monitor key workshop KPIs including:
  • Productivity
  • Efficiency

• First-Time Fix Rate

  • Comeback Ratio
  • Warranty Performance

• Customer Satisfaction Scores

  • Recommend operational improvements to enhance workshop performance.
  • Conduct regular technical audits and quality inspections.

Warranty & Quality Management

  • Ensure warranty repairs are conducted in accordance with manufacturer policies.
  • Review and approve technical warranty submissions.
  • Investigate warranty rejections and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor quality standards and ensure compliance with manufacturer audit requirements.
  • Lead root cause analysis for technical failures and customer complaints.
  • Implement preventive measures to improve vehicle reliability and service quality.

Product & Technical Information Management

  • Stay updated on new GEELY vehicle technologies, EV systems, diagnostic tools, and manufacturer updates.
  • Communicate technical updates, recalls, service campaigns, and technical bulletins to workshop personnel.
  • Support vehicle launches by ensuring technical readiness and staff training.
  • Maintain access and utilization of manufacturer diagnostic systems and technical platforms.

Electric Vehicle (Ev) & Emerging Technologies

  • Lead technical training initiatives related to electric and hybrid vehicle technologies.
  • Ensure workshop compliance with EV safety standards and repair procedures.
  • Develop internal expertise in advanced vehicle technologies, ADAS systems, connected vehicles, and diagnostic platforms.
  • Support implementation of future mobility and digital service initiatives.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Promote safe workshop practices and adherence to manufacturer safety standards.
  • Conduct technical safety briefings and risk assessments where required.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with GEELY regional and manufacturer technical teams.
  • Collaborate with Service Managers, Workshop Managers, Parts Department, Warranty Teams, and Customer Care teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in manufacturer meetings, audits, and technical reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Manufacturer certifications from GEELY or other automotive brands are highly desirable.
  • Technical Trainer Certification is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 8–10 years of automotive technical experience within a dealership environment.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a Technical Manager, Technical Training Manager, or similar leadership role.
  • Experience working with passenger vehicles and advanced automotive diagnostic systems.
  • Experience with Chinese automotive brands is highly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with EV and hybrid vehicle technologies.
