Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Technical Superintendent based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Technical Superintendent will oversee the technical maintenance and operations of assigned vessels, ensuring they meet safety, performance, and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
include conducting vessel inspections, overseeing repairs and maintenance, advising on technical matters, monitoring operational efficiency, and ensuring adherence to industry regulations and standards.
The role requires collaboration with vessel crews, stakeholders, and compliance officers to uphold the company's commitment to safety and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Marine Engineering or a related field
- Hold MEO Class 1 or MOT Class 2 Certificate of competency or Certificate of Competency II/2 (for Master/Chief Officer) or Certificate of Competency III/2 (for Chief Engineer/Second Engineer) under STCW Code
- A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience as Chief Engineer/Second Engineer or Master/Chief Officer
- Worked as a Technical Superintendent in charge of oil/product tankers for at least 1 year.
- Experience in vessel operations, maintenance, or repair
- Dry docking experience is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of vessel systems, equipment, and machinery
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and project management
- Experience with regulatory compliance and safety protocols
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
