Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for an Environmental Health Specialist at Lablads Scientific Zimbabwe.
The Environmental Health Specialist will assess and monitor environmental and occupational health risks related to the company’s products, solutions, and client operations.
Daily tasks include reviewing environmental and water testing data, developing and updating environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines, and supporting clients in implementing best practices for compliance and risk mitigation.
The role involves preparing technical reports, standard operating procedures, and training materials, as well as providing virtual consultations to customers on environmental compliance and occupational health considerations.
The specialist will collaborate with internal teams, including sales, service, and product development, to ensure that environmental health requirements are integrated into solutions, documentation, and customer support.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in Environmental Health and Environmental Compliance, including interpreting relevant regulations and standards.
- Demonstrated experience in Environment Health and Safety (EHS), with the ability to develop and support implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
- Background in Occupational Health, including identifying workplace hazards, recommending controls, and supporting safe work practices.
- Clear and professional Communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, guidelines, and training materials and to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders remotely.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Health, Public Health, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Experience working with environmental or laboratory testing, diagnostics, or scientific products is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and use digital collaboration tools effectively.
- Relevant professional certifications in environmental health, EHS, or occupational health are an advantage.
