Role overview
Hands-on consultant delivering technically capable, risk-based quality assurance across complex client and internal project systems.
Works with developers, architects, delivery teams, and clients to investigate system behavior and provide evidence of quality and risk.
The role contributes to Daintta's growing Quality Assurance and Delivery Assurance capability.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and solution designs to identify risks and test coverage.
- Design and execute functional, exploratory, API, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Test REST APIs, integrations, and data flows, validating behavior, contracts, transformations, and error handling.
- Investigate defects using logs, API requests and responses, databases, browser developer tools, CI/CD output, and other evidence.
- Maintain test evidence and traceability across requirements, risks, testing, and outcomes.
- Work with delivery teams to embed quality early and prevent defects.
- Contribute to automated regression testing and CI/CD quality checks.
- Apply risk-based testing and support test planning, defect management, reporting, release readiness, and operational assurance.
- Communicate quality findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work directly with clients and improve QA methods, reusable assets, tools, and delivery practices.
Skills and knowledge
- Degree educated or significant equivalent relevant experience.
- Practical software quality assurance and testing experience across the delivery lifecycle.
- Hands-on API, integration, system, exploratory, or technically focused testing experience.
- Comfortable investigating system behavior and defects using APIs, logs, data, and SQL or database queries.
- Experience with, or an appetite to develop, test automation and CI/CD capability.
- Understands risk-based testing and can adapt to unfamiliar technical environments and ambiguous requirements.
- Communicates clearly with engineers, delivery teams, clients, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in Defence, National Security, Critical National Infrastructure, Policing, Healthcare/NHS, Government, or similar high-assurance environments is advantageous.
