About the role

Lead high-impact, cross-cutting technical programs across Motive’s Platform Services and product engineering organization.

The role focuses on platform foundations, engineering delivery at scale, platform adoption, architectural change, and alignment of multi-team investments.

Reports to Platform Services engineering leadership and works across engineering and partner functions.

Responsibilities

  • Translate organizational priorities into executable roadmaps with measurable outcomes alongside Platform Services leadership and engineering managers.
  • Lead cross-functional programs from definition and planning through delivery and adoption.
  • Align teams on goals, milestones, dependencies, decisions, risks, and operating rhythms.
  • Build roadmap reviews, status reporting, escalation paths, and success metrics to improve visibility and accountability.
  • Identify systemic execution gaps and lead teams toward durable solutions.
  • Influence stakeholders on trade-offs and keep strategic initiatives moving.
  • Mentor others and improve program management practices across engineering.
  • Drive monthly and quarterly business reviews, executive reporting, and cross-organizational communications.
  • Partner with Product leadership to map product roadmaps into programs involving multiple engineering teams.
  • Implement tracking frameworks, such as Gantt or single-source-of-truth models, that surface delivery risks in advance.

Required qualifications

  • 7+ years in technical program management, engineering program management, or a related software, infrastructure, or platform role.
  • 15+ years of technology-industry experience.
  • Track record leading large, ambiguous, multi-team programs with significant dependencies and measurable impact.
  • Technical fluency in architecture, trade-offs, delivery risks, and execution planning.
  • Strength in program structure, decision-making, and complex problem-solving in evolving environments.
  • Experience building senior-stakeholder alignment and improving communication, governance, and execution.
  • Bias for action and root-cause problem-solving, including actively unblocking delivery.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and ability to create executive summaries and trade-off matrices.
  • Experience establishing objective metrics for program success.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications

  • Prior background as a software engineer, systems or delivery architect, or technical product manager is preferred.
  • Experience with AI-assisted developer workflow tooling or agentic automation is preferred.

Compensation

  • The compensation range stated for Canada is CAD 180,000–210,000 USD; the description does not specify the pay cadence.
  • Compensation may depend on education, work experience, and certifications; some roles may include restricted stock units.

Benefits

  • Benefits described include health, pharmacy, optical and dental care, paid time off, sick time, disability coverage, life insurance, and 401(k) contributions, subject to eligibility.

Workplace information

  • The posting says some interviews or new-hire training sessions may be held in person at a global office; it does not specify the role’s regular workplace arrangement.
