Role Overview
This is a hands-on technical operations role focused on refurbishment, quality, throughput, suppliers, inventory, processes, and costs.
The role works directly with refurbishment technicians and requires regular machine work rather than desk-based management.
Technical Work and Quality
- Disassemble, clean, test, troubleshoot, repair, and assemble machines for deployment.
- Assess returns for refurbishment, parts recovery, or scrap and record serial numbers and MAC IDs.
- Perform final quality inspections and approve machines for customer deployment.
- Investigate post-delivery issues, identify root causes, and communicate recurring faults to R&D and suppliers.
Team and Daily Operations
- Plan refurbishment activities and coordinate technicians, tools, and workstations against targets.
- Supervise technician allocation, attendance, performance, and workload.
- Train technicians and maintain accurate refurbishment SOPs.
- Enforce safe handling of machines, tools, chemicals, and CO₂ canisters in an audit-ready environment.
Suppliers and Inventory
- Manage painting, plastics, spare-parts, and consumables suppliers against quality and lead-time requirements.
- Coordinate machine and material pickups and deliveries with the 3PL partner.
- Maintain spare-parts records in Zoho Inventory, conduct stock counts, and investigate discrepancies.
- Track technician attendance and daily refurbishment output.
Throughput and Reporting
- Monitor throughput and technician productivity, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements.
- Track cost per refurbished machine and propose a costed improvement initiative for monthly review.
- Reduce parts consumption, scrap, and rework while recovering viable components.
- Provide weekly reports covering output, quality, backlog, issues, and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in refurbishment, repair, assembly, or light manufacturing.
- 1–2 years of experience leading and supervising a small technical team.
- Strong expertise with appliances, water systems, and electrical or mechanical assemblies.
- Proficiency with Zoho or similar inventory systems, Excel, and Google Sheets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in water purification, HVAC, or refrigeration is preferred.
- Exposure to Lean or 5S methodologies and coordination with 3PL providers and international suppliers is preferred.
