Job Summary

The Technical Manager is responsible for leading the technical operations, engineering activities, solution design, deployment, and support of wireless communication and two-way radio systems.

The role involves managing technical teams, ensuring successful project delivery, maintaining customer satisfaction, and driving the growth of the wireless communications business through innovative solutions and technical expertise.

Technical Leadership

· Lead and manage the technical team responsible for wireless and two-way radio systems.

· Provide technical guidance on system design, implementation, integration, and maintenance.

· Develop and enforce technical standards, procedures, and best practices.

· Stay updated with emerging wireless communication technologies and industry trends.

Solution Design & Engineering

· Design and review wireless communication solutions including:

· Analog and digital two-way radio systems

· DMR, TETRA, P25, LTE/MCX communication systems

· Repeaters, base stations, dispatch systems, and IP-based radio networks

· Conduct site surveys, coverage analysis, and network planning.

· Prepare technical proposals, system architecture, and engineering documentation.

Project Management

· Plan, execute, and monitor wireless communication projects from initiation to completion.

· Coordinate with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

· Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications.

· Manage project risks, change requests, and quality assurance activities.

Customer Support & Service Management

· Oversee installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.

· Provide advanced technical support for complex customer issues.

· Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

· Conduct technical presentations and customer training programs.

Business Development Support

· Work closely with the sales team to identify customer requirements and develop solutions.

· Support pre-sales activities including demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and technical consultations.

· Review RFPs, RFQs, and tenders and contribute to proposal preparation.

· Build strong relationships with key customers, partners, and manufacturers.

Team Management

· Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate technical personnel.

· Assign tasks and manage team performance.

· Promote a culture of safety, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Compliance & Quality

· Ensure compliance with telecommunications regulations and industry standards.

· Maintain quality control processes and documentation.

· Monitor health, safety, and environmental requirements during field operations.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

· Minimum 7–10 years of experience in wireless communications and two-way radio systems.

· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a technical leadership or management role.

· Strong knowledge of:

DMR, TETRA, P25, LTE, and RF technologies

IP networking and communication systems

Radio frequency propagation and coverage planning

Dispatch and control room solutions

· Experience with major vendors such as Motorola Solutions, Hytera, Kenwood, Icom, Sepura, or similar.

· PMP (Project Management Professional)

· CCNA or equivalent networking certification

· RF and wireless communication certifications
