The Technical Manager – Dry Docking leads dry-docking projects, fleet technical oversight, maintenance planning, and compliance activities.
The role supports safe, efficient, and commercially successful fleet operations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead dry-docking planning, execution, and close-out for assigned vessels.
- Review technical specifications, repair scopes, quotations, and budgets for cost-effective, safe, compliant delivery.
- Monitor vessel technical performance, planned maintenance completion, defects, and maintenance effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State, statutory, and company technical requirements.
- Coordinate with shipyards, classification societies, service providers, vessel managers, and internal stakeholders.
- Support vessel acquisitions, technical due diligence, inspections, and resale.
- Drive KPIs for vessel availability, maintenance performance, dry-docking execution, and budget adherence.
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis; implement corrective and preventive actions.
Qualifications and experience
- Marine Engineering qualification or equivalent technical maritime background.
- Significant experience in ship technical management and dry-docking supervision.
- Strong understanding of marine machinery, planned maintenance systems, shipyard operations, and Class and statutory requirements.
- Proven experience in budgeting, cost control, procurement, vendor management, and technical reporting.
- Strong leadership, planning, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
