Role overview

Technical Manager for THG Manufacturing at Brighter Foods, a Tywyn site producing snack bars and functional food products.

Leads food safety, quality assurance, and compliance to meet regulatory and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the site Food Safety and Quality agenda and maintain the Site Quality Management System.
  • Monitor regulatory and customer requirements, manage performance indicators, and promote risk assessment.
  • Ensure released batches meet quality and food safety standards; coordinate third-party audits and follow-up.
  • Advise projects on hygienic design, equipment, food-contact materials, and cleaning validation.
  • Develop the technical team through reviews, coaching, and training.
  • Investigate customer complaints, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in internal and external audits; drive continuous improvement, quality awareness, and site hygiene.

What we're looking for

  • Proven Quality Systems Management and technical leadership experience in food manufacturing.
  • Relevant degree in food science, microbiology, or product safety, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing third-party audits and technical visits; BRC-accredited facility experience is ideal.
  • People management, coaching, quality improvement, and relevant Food Safety qualifications, including HACCP Level 3 minimum.
  • Working knowledge of BRC and ISO standards, QMS certification processes, retailer technical standards, and food manufacturing controls.
