Role Description The Technical Manager role is a part-time, hybrid position based in Abu Dhabi, with flexibility for some work from home.
The Technical Manager will oversee technical planning and execution for Intersolar Africa-related initiatives, ensuring that exhibition and conference activities meet industry standards and organizational goals.
Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating technical requirements with exhibitors and partners, supporting the development of technical content for sessions, and ensuring smooth operation of technology and infrastructure.
The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing technical timelines and deliverables, and addressing technical issues as they arise.
The Technical Manager will also contribute to research and evaluation of emerging solar technologies and trends to inform program design and strategic decisions.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate technical data, assess risks, and support evidence-based decisions.
- Team management and leadership capabilities, including guiding cross-functional teams and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in technical support and troubleshooting for events, exhibitions, or technology-driven projects.
- Background in research and development (R&D), preferably in solar energy, renewable energy systems, or related fields.
- Proven project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and overseeing technical deliverables within defined timelines and budgets.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with solar technologies, energy storage, grid integration, or similar domains is highly beneficial.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing onsite responsibilities in Abu Dhabi and remote coordination with regional and international partners.
