TECHNICAL LEAD - Azure Cloud

Role purpose

Responsibilities

• Manage virtual machines, App Services, storage accounts, and Azure resources.
• Operate Azure networking, identity and access controls, security, governance, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Automate provisioning and deployment through Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices.
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and application issues, including root-cause analysis.
• Support containerized application deployment and collaborate with cross-functional teams on cloud solutions.

Experience and working expectations

• Four to five years of hands-on cloud engineering experience; Azure experience is specified at mid-level.
• Experience operating in a structured ITIL environment with formal service-level agreements.
• Comfort with on-call rotation and weekend maintenance windows.

Technical skills

• Azure services include virtual machines, App Services, storage, VNets, subnets, NSGs, load balancers, Application Gateway, VPN, and ExpressRoute.
• Identity and security tools include Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, Azure Policy, and Sentinel.
• Infrastructure and deployment tools include Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Git, PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Python.
• Monitoring, recovery, and containers include Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, Docker, and AKS.

Preferred industry exposure

• Exposure to healthcare, banking, oil and gas, or another regulated environment is preferred.
