Technical Lead

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Own roadmap delivery from epic breakdown through production release; partner with Product and Engineering Managers on scope and sequencing.
• Run sprint execution, surface risks and blockers, maintain honest commitments, and serve as technical accountability point for releases, migrations, and customer escalations.
• Drive service production health through SLOs, on-call quality, alert hygiene, and root-cause follow-through.
• Own architecture, service boundaries, data models, event contracts, and integrations; write and review design documents and document trade-offs.
• Evaluate frameworks, tools, and partner APIs; track technical debt and secure roadmap capacity to address it.
• Define team standards for coding, testing, reviews, branching, observability, and documentation; improve quality and delivery metrics.
• Mentor and onboard engineers, document domain knowledge, participate in hiring, and coordinate with business teams and adjacent technical leads.

Core qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating production software, including 2+ years as a technical lead, staff engineer, or equivalent leading team technical delivery.
• Deep backend expertise in Java/Spring Boot and/or Go, with strong distributed-systems and object-oriented design fundamentals.
• Hands-on microservices and event-driven systems experience, including Kafka or similar and handling idempotency, ordering, replay, and failures.
• Strong data modeling and SQL skills with PostgreSQL or equivalent; practical caching and query/performance tuning at scale.
• Production AWS experience with containerized deployments, CI/CD, and modern observability tooling.
• Track record shipping complex multi-quarter work on time and identifying risk early; ability to improve team standards and mentor engineers.
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable influencing without authority and working with a distributed US–India team and customers.
• Agile delivery fluency, including Jira, Confluence, and Git branching/rebasing; graduate background in B.E., B.Tech, MCA, or M.Tech.

Bonus qualifications

• Ocean Visibility: ocean and multimodal logistics data, carrier and port feeds, logistics integration standards, and reconciling messy third-party data.
• Order Inventory Visibility: order, purchase order, SKU, and inventory modeling; ERP/OMS/WMS/TMS integrations; real-time digital twins and inventory analytics.
• For either domain: supply chain or logistics, large-scale migrations or domain decomposition, high-growth enterprise SaaS, and practical AI coding tools.
