Technical Expert - Agentic Systems

About the role

What you will do

• Solve difficult platform problems in data discovery, agent planning and tool use, retrieval and grounding, validation-before-action, and conflict or ambiguity handling.
• Design, build, and harden demanding platform components with direct technical ownership.
• Advise colleagues on complex agentic AI and LLM systems challenges.
• Diagnose and resolve performance, reliability, correctness, and edge-case issues.
• Contribute specialist expertise to architecture discussions and stress-test designs.
• Evaluate emerging techniques, frameworks, and tools and recommend practical adoption choices.
• Write technical deep dives and documentation that make complex mechanisms understandable.

What we are looking for

• Strong experience designing, building, and operating production software systems in Python, TypeScript, Java, or a similar language.
• At least 10 years of software engineering experience, including substantial senior, staff, or principal-level individual-contributor work.
• Experience architecting and operating production agentic AI systems involving multi-step reasoning, tool use, planning, or orchestration.
• Experience across multiple distinct agentic AI projects of comparable complexity.
• Deep hands-on expertise in LLM agent frameworks, orchestration, tool calling, validation-before-action, RAG, retrieval architecture, evaluation, and observability.
• Track record of influencing technical direction across teams without formal management authority.
• Production platform judgment covering reliability, security, multi-tenancy, performance, and observability.
• Strong technical communication, including RFCs and architecture documents for technical and business audiences.
• Comfort working autonomously with significant ambiguity.
