Technical Director Role

Core Responsibilities

• Define and communicate technical vision and best practices in architecture, software development, and emerging technologies.
• Act as final authority for critical design and delivery decisions.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to CIOs, CTOs, and senior stakeholders and lead discovery workshops.
• Translate business objectives into technical strategies and tailored solution proposals.
• Oversee technical execution for quality, scalability, and maintainability and manage project risks.
• Support project staffing and foster excellence, mentorship, and innovation across teams.
• Manage project burn-down, resource allocation, revenue opportunities, and financial accountability.
• Contribute to open source and thought leadership, and champion DEI and sustainability initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

• 15+ years of technical leadership experience, ideally in consulting, SaaS, or large-scale digital transformation.
• Deep expertise in software architecture, cloud platforms, and modern development practices.
• Experience guiding technical decisions on complex, high-impact projects.
• Experience leading pre-sales, discovery, and solution design discussions.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with AI, databases, distributed systems, and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience leading and mentoring senior software development teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a fully remote, globally distributed environment is preferred.
• Financial oversight experience on technology projects is preferred.
• Open-source contributions or technical thought leadership are preferred.
• Exposure to AI-driven solutions and emerging technologies is preferred.

• This is a permanent, full-time remote opportunity for candidates based in the UK.
