Beyond Academics is looking for a Technical Co-Founder & Founding CTO to help build the technology behind a more human approach to child growth.
At Beyond Academics, we believe every child is more than a set of grades.
A child may be intelligent and capable, yet still struggle with confidence, communication, focus, motivation, self-awareness, or knowing how to express what they think and feel.
These things shape how a child learns, connects, participates, and grows, but they are not always visible through marks alone.
We are building a child-growth platform that helps parents, mentors, and schools understand children beyond grades, behaviour, and comparison, then guide them with clearer insight, personalised support, and meaningful next steps.
We are looking for someone who wants to build this with us from the ground up.
This is not a freelance development role, a title-only role, or a casual side project.
We are looking for a genuine technical cofounder who can take ownership of the technology, help shape the product, and grow with the mission over the long term.
What You Will Do
- Lead the technical direction of Beyond Academics from MVP to scale
- Help shape the product roadmap alongside the founder
- Turn early concepts, user journeys, and real parent or school needs into simple working products
- Build the first version of the platform, including parent, mentor, child-growth, reporting, and internal workflow tools
- Make practical decisions around architecture, stack, data, privacy, AI integrations, and scalability
- Explore responsible ways to use AI for personalisation, reflection, planning, reporting, and parent insight
- Create the foundations for future school partnerships, mentor systems, child profiles, growth tracking, and dashboards
- Build and eventually lead the technical team as Beyond Academics grows
- What we are looking for
- Strong full-stack development capability and genuine product instinct
- Comfortable building in an early-stage environment where not everything is fully defined yet
- Able to simplify ideas and turn them into useful, well-designed products
- Experience with modern web applications, dashboards, SaaS products, data systems, or AI integrations
- Thoughtful about privacy, trust, and responsible technology, especially when working around children and families
- Communicates clearly, shows visible progress, and takes ownership without needing to be chased
- Willing to challenge ideas respectfully and help decide what should be built now, later, or not at all
- Experience in EdTech, parent-facing products, school systems, learning platforms, child development tools, AI products, or subscription SaaS would be valuable, but mindset and ownership matter more than a perfect background.
