We have an urgent requirement for Technical Channel Owner – Retail, Mobile & Corporate Channel one of our banking client in Dubai UAE

Stronge experience in end-to-end technical owner—from architecture and development to production support and optimization.--

Must

Strong domain expertise in UAE payments, corporate cash management, and mobile banking.--

Must

Strong focus on payments and cash management platforms Strong understanding of UAE banking regulations, local payment rails, SWIFT, and CBDC initiatives.--Must

Experience with corporate digital channels, including Corporate Internet Banking and self-service portals.--

Must

Ownership of Retail, Mobile, and Corporate channels spanning Internet Banking, Mobile Apps, Host-to-Host, and APIs.--

-Must

Strong engineering background in API-first and microservices architectures.---

Must

Experience integrating with Core Banking, Payments Hubs, AML, Fraud, Cards, Trade Finance, and Treasury systems.---

Role Overview

We are seeking an accomplished Technical Channel Owner to lead Retail, Mobile, and Corporate Banking Channels, with a strong focus on payments and cash management platforms. The role requires deep technical expertise, hands-on development background, and strong understanding of UAE banking regulations, local payment rails, SWIFT, and CBDC initiatives.This position combines channel ownership, engineering leadership, and regulatory alignment, ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant solutions across retail, mobile, and corporate banking ecosystems.

Key Expectations

  • Own and govern Retail, Mobile, and Corporate digital channels, including payments and cash management platforms.
  • Act as the end-to-end technical owner—from architecture and development to production support and optimization.
  • Demonstrate strong domain expertise in UAE payments, corporate cash management, and mobile banking.
  • Drive modernization across digital channels, payment rails, and corporate transaction banking.
  • Partner closely with Business, Compliance, Operations, and Central Bank / regulatory stakeholders.

Mobile & Digital Banking Channels

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Mobile Banking platforms (Retail & Corporate):
  • + Mobile payments, transfers, bill payments, QR payments
  • + Secure authentication, biometrics, tokenization, and fraud controls
  • + Mobile SDK integrations, API consumption, and backend service orchestration
  • Experience owning customer-facing mobile journeys, performance optimization, uptime, and security hardening.
  • Understanding of mobile regulatory, security, and data privacy requirements in UAE banking.

Corporate Banking & Cash Management

  • Deep functional and technical knowledge of Corporate Cash Management solutions including:
  • + Payments & collections
  • + Liquidity management and pooling
  • + Account services, balance reporting (MT940 / ISO 20022)
  • + Host-to-Host and ERP integrations
  • Experience with corporate digital channels, including Corporate Internet Banking and self-service portals.
  • Strong understanding of straight-through processing (STP), cut-off times, settlement cycles, and reconciliation.
  • Ability to design scalable corporate payment and cash management workflows aligned with regulatory and operational needs.

Payments & Financial Messaging

  • Extensive expertise in UAE local payment rails, including:

+ WPS, Direct Debit, Cheque Imaging Systems

  • Strong working knowledge of SWIFT (MT, ISO 20022 MX, SWIFT gpi).
  • Experience with cross-border payments, reconciliation, sanctions screening, and settlement.
  • Exposure to or active involvement in CBDC initiatives, digital currencies, or central bank payment innovations.

Channel & Integration Architecture

  • Ownership of Retail, Mobile, and Corporate channels spanning Internet Banking, Mobile Apps, Host-to-Host, and APIs.
  • Strong engineering background in API-first and microservices architectures.
  • Experience integrating with Core Banking, Payments Hubs, AML, Fraud, Cards, Trade Finance, and Treasury systems.
  • Proficiency in event-driven architectures, messaging queues, and enterprise middleware.

Development & Engineering Background

  • Solid hands-on development experience (Java, Spring Boot, .NET, or equivalent enterprise platforms).
  • Experience designing and supporting high-volume, mission-critical transaction systems.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, OpenShift/Kubernetes, and cloud-native platforms.
  • Ability to review code, guide engineering teams, and enforce performance, security, and scalability standards.

Banking, Compliance & Regulatory Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of CBUAE regulations, UAE banking compliance, and supervisory frameworks.
  • Experience aligning channel and payment solutions with AML, KYC, sanctions, and fraud requirements.
  • Proven ability to support regulatory audits, technology risk reviews, and remediation programs.
  • Knowledge of operational resilience, data protection, and information security standards.

Channel & Platform Ownership

  • Own the technical roadmap for retail, mobile, and corporate channels, including cash management platforms.
  • Ensure platforms meet performance, availability, security, and compliance benchmarks.
  • Lead modernization initiatives across mobile banking, corporate portals, and payment ecosystems.

Delivery & Stakeholder Management

  • Translate business requirements from Retail and Corporate Banking into robust technical solutions.
  • Coordinate with Core Banking, Payments, Treasury, Trade Finance, Cards, and external partners.
  • Manage vendors and fintech partners, including SLA governance and issue resolution.

Regulatory & Innovation Leadership

  • Lead initiatives involving digital payments, cash management transformation, and CBDC readiness.
  • Support ISO 20022 migration, open banking, and real-time payments programs.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance is embedded into system design and delivery.

Soft Skills & Leadership

  • Strong ownership and accountability mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge business and technology.
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels.
  • Experience mentoring teams and driving engineering best practices.

Qualifications & Certifications (Preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Certifications such as TOGAF, PMP, Prince2, Cloud, or Payment’s certifications are an advantage.
  • Proven experience in UAE retail, mobile, and corporate cash management transformation programs.
