Role & responsibilities
1. Sales Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales engineers/executives focused on hydraulics and fluid power solutions.
Set clear sales targets, KPIs, and performance expectations for the team in line with organizational goals.
Conduct regular sales reviews, pipeline discussions, and performance evaluations.
Provide ongoing coaching in technical selling, negotiation skills, and solution-based sales approaches.
Ensure team alignment with company sales strategy, ethical standards, and governance norms.
2. Business Development & Job Winning
Drive new business acquisition for hydraulic components, hydraulic systems, power packs, and fluid power engineering services.
Identify and pursue opportunities related to hydraulic system design, retrofits, modernization, upgrades, maintenance, and turnkey projects.
Develop and execute strategies to win hydraulic tenders, RFQs, and project-based opportunities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, EPC contractors, consultants, and end customers.
Expand market presence across targeted industries such as manufacturing, steel, power, marine, construction, mining, and process industries.
3. Sales Execution & Revenue Growth
Achieve and exceed assigned sales revenue, order intake, and profitability targets.
Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation and technical discussions to commercial negotiations and order closure.
Guide and support the team in preparing technical and commercial proposals for hydraulic solutions.
Ensure accurate sales forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM discipline.
4. Technical Sales & Solution Development
Work closely with engineering and application teams to develop optimized hydraulic solutions aligned with customer requirements.
Support customers through technical presentations, system concept discussions, and product demonstrations.
Ensure correct selection and positioning of hydraulic components such as pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, manifolds, and accessories.
Act as a technical escalation point for complex sales, system-level discussions, and high-value projects.
5. Customer Relationship Management
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key and strategic customers.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective coordination with internal engineering, project, and service teams.
Identify opportunities for repeat business, cross-selling, and upselling of hydraulic products and services.
Lead major customer negotiations and key account engagements.
6. Reporting, Communication & Management Interface
Report directly to the General Manager and operate under the overall strategic guidance of senior management.
Maintain regular and structured communication with the General Manager, providing frequent updates on:
Sales performance, order intake, and pipeline status
Progress on key hydraulic projects, tenders, and negotiations
Risks, challenges, and mitigation plans
Market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback
Prepare and present periodic sales reports, forecasts, dashboards, and review presentations as required by management.
