Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding Teacher of Drama to join Muna British Academy in Abu Dhabi, commencing in the 2026–2027 academic year.

In August 2025, Muna British Academy relocated to a state-of-the-art campus in the prestigious Saadiyat Lagoons community.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum 1 - 2 years’ experience in teaching experience

Main Duties
- Teaching and Learning
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge across the drama curriculum, delivering high-quality teaching across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, including GCSE, A Level and BTEC pathways where appropriate.
- Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that develop students’ performance skills, creativity, confidence, collaboration and understanding of theatrical styles and practitioners.
- Plan and deliver schemes of work aligned with the UK National Curriculum at KS3 and examination board specifications at KS4 and KS5.
- Prepare students effectively for external qualifications including (I)GCSE, A Level and BTEC Drama qualifications.
- Promote creativity through practical workshops, rehearsals, scripted and devised performance work, and opportunities for reflection and evaluation.
- Provide high-quality guidance and feedback during performance rehearsals, coursework and examinations to ensure students meet assessment requirements.
- Plan lessons and sequences of learning that meet the needs of all learners, ensuring challenge and support across the full ability range.
- Use assessment effectively to monitor student progress, inform planning and support students in achieving their potential.
- Develop students’ communication, presentation, resilience and teamwork skills through practical and performance-based learning experiences.
- Ensure that drama studios, theatres and performance spaces are organised effectively and that resources and displays support a stimulating learning environment.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety within rehearsal and performance spaces, ensuring students work safely when using staging, props, costumes and technical equipment.
- Use a range of teaching strategies, including digital technology and blended learning approaches, to enhance student engagement and progress.
- Support the needs of all learners including POD (SEN), EAL and G&T students through effective differentiation and inclusive teaching practices.
- Contribute to curriculum development within the drama department, ensuring that the curriculum remains engaging, rigorous and aligned with developments in theatre and performing arts education.
Assessment, Progress and Achievement
- Monitor and track student progress using assessment data to inform teaching and identify students who require additional challenge or support.
- Provide clear and constructive feedback that supports students in improving their scientific knowledge, investigative skills and examination performance.
- Prepare students effectively for internal and external assessments through structured guidance, rehearsal strategies and examination preparation.
- Contribute to departmental moderation and standardisation processes to ensure accurate and consistent assessment.
- Support students in developing strong performance, evaluative and analytical skills required for GCSE, A Level and BTEC Drama qualifications.
Behaviour Management and Student Wellbeing
- Follow the school’s behaviour policy and maintain high expectations for student conduct and engagement.
- Manage classes effectively using positive behaviour strategies that support a focused and productive learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, encouraging respect, responsibility and independence.
- Act as a positive role model and uphold the values and ethos of the school.
- Support the pastoral development of students and contribute to the wider wellbeing and safeguarding of all learners.
Professional Responsibilities and Wider Contribution
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities, drama clubs, productions, showcases, competitions and community performances.
- Lead and support school productions, assemblies, performances and special events as required.
- Support whole-school initiatives and cross-curricular opportunities that promote creativity, sustainability, innovation and enterprise.
- Participate in departmental planning, professional development and collaborative working with colleagues.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting and parent communication processes.
- Carry out duties and responsibilities as directed in line with the school’s policies and expectations.
- Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, child protection and professional conduct at all times.
