Role summary
We are looking for a skilled Tableau Administrator to manage, optimize, and govern our Tableau Server / Cloud environment.
You will serve as the platform owner — ensuring performance, security, and scalability of our analytics infrastructure while enabling business users to self-serve data with confidence.
This role sits at the intersection of IT operations and data enablement.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Tableau Server / Tableau Cloud environments across development, staging, and production.
- Manage user provisioning, role-based access control (RBAC), licensing, and permission structures across sites and projects.
- Monitor server health, performance, and resource utilization; proactively resolve bottlenecks and incidents.
- Perform routine backups, disaster recovery testing, and ensure business continuity of the BI platform.
- Implement and enforce Tableau governance frameworks including content certification, publishing standards, and naming conventions.
- Manage and optimize data source connections, extract refresh schedules, and embedded credentials.
- Collaborate with data engineers and BI developers to onboard new data sources and ensure pipeline reliability.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support to business users, resolving platform, connectivity, and performance issues.
- Maintain documentation including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and user guides.
- Drive adoption through training sessions, onboarding materials, and internal knowledge sharing.
- Stay current with Tableau releases, evaluate new features, and manage version upgrade cycles.
