Systems Security Engineer III

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of secure IT systems and networks.
• Perform expert-level security monitoring and tuning.
• Manage and lead complex incident response and digital forensics activities.
• Conduct thorough risk and vulnerability assessments.
• Develop, implement, and oversee security controls and protocols.
• Research and integrate new security tools and technologies.
• Document, analyze, and report on security breaches and their implications.
• Mentor junior security engineers and contribute to their professional growth.
• Qualifications You Must Have:
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related Engineering discipline
• 5+ years of experience in IT security or a related field.
• Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 9 years of related experience is required.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Advanced understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
• Experience with security frameworks and standards such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), ISO 27001.
• Current/Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance with SCI Eligibility is required.
• Qualifications We Prefer:
• Information Systems Security Engineer Certified Authorization Professional (ISSE CAP) Certification.
• Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Security+, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) Certification.
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Linux, and/or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security Certification.
• Experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
• Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
• Experience drafting, updating, and maintaining comprehensive organizational cybersecurity policies strictly aligned with NIST SP 800-53 Revision 4 and Revision 5 frameworks.
• Hands-on experience utilizing ACAS for network scanning, vulnerability identification, and coordinated patch management.
• Experience deploying, configuring, and managing the Elastic Stack (ELK) SIEM tool for real-time security monitoring, log analysis, and incident detection.
• Essential Functions:
• Ability to work primarily at a computer for extended periods.
• Capability to participate in on-call rotation for incident response.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
• Occasional travel may be required.
