Entry-level Systems & Procurement Data Analyst supporting a plumbing, heating, and bathroom products merchant.
The role gathers, analyzes, and reports data to help improve sales, stock management, and customer service.
Workplace and employment
- Full-time, permanent position based in person in Belfast.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and organize sales, stock, and customer data from internal systems.
- Review supplier rebate and claimback arrangements, verify expected amounts, and resolve differences.
- Produce reports for branch managers, sales teams, and senior management, including product-line sales, slow-moving stock, and margin analysis.
- Support pricing and promotions analysis to assess competitiveness and profitability.
- Assist with demand forecasting to optimize stock levels.
- Monitor and report key performance indicators across branches.
- Work with commercial and operations teams to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain data accuracy and consistent reporting across the business.
- Support ad hoc analysis projects, such as branch performance and supplier negotiations.
Essential skills and experience
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and charts.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills to explain findings clearly to non-technical colleagues.
- Organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI is desirable.
- Previous experience in retail, trade, or distribution is desirable.
- Understanding of stock management and sales processes is desirable.
