Systems Development Engineer, Cloud Expansion, Google Public Sector

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure air-gapped cloud solutions such as Google Distributed Cloud (GDC). Continually improve deployment and management processes for air-gapped cloud solutions by collaborating with external stakeholders such as engineering teams.
• Install, configure, and manage multiple technologies, including but not limited to network switches, firewalls, block storage, object storage, servers, and hardware security modules.
• Deploy and configure Operations Center (OC) IT infrastructure, including local workstations and IT equipment used to manage air-gapped cloud solutions.
• Collaborate within the organization and with external stakeholders to deliver complex enterprise solutions.
• Troubleshoot and collaborate with engineering on issues that may arise with infrastructure or software while deploying an air-gapped cloud solution.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT-related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 3 years of experience with Linux and Windows technologies and architecture/infrastructure, in compute infrastructure, supporting, developing, and maintaining cloud solutions. - Experience designing, deploying, and managing enterprise solutions. - Experience creating scripts to automate tasks. - Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with current polygraph. Preferred qualifications: - Experience implementing projects in a customer-focused, fast-changing environment. - Experience working in data center operations. - Knowledge of enterprise-grade operating systems, working in Linux/Unix/WSL/Windows, Kubernetes, and network administration. - Understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), group policies and hardening practices. - Understanding of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) environments.
