Company and team

Hearn Industrial Services provides third-party logistics and warehousing for automotive OEM customers across sites in the United States and Canada.

The IT team builds and supports systems used in warehouse operations.

Role summary

This role is the IT team’s presence at the East Chicago site and supports its day-to-day technology needs.

The work spans warehouse hardware, applications, operational data, reporting, and a new picking application rollout.

The analyst owns first-line diagnosis and resolution and prioritizes incoming site requests.

Development, reporting, and data

  • Write, test, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for operational and customer reporting.
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards; answer data requests with queries, extracts, and data validation.
  • Make small internal application enhancements and bug fixes.
  • Support picking application testing, data setup, user training, go-live, and post-launch issue resolution.
  • Document queries, reports, application changes, and support procedures.

On-site IT and application support

  • Act as first point of contact for site IT and application issues.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot production label and document printers, laptops, scanners, and other end-user devices.
  • Diagnose connectivity issues and work with the network team when needed.
  • Log, track, resolve, and escalate tickets through the IT service management system.
  • Support warehouse users with the WMS and related applications.

Required qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in application support, development, reporting, or a related IT role.
  • Working SQL knowledge, including joins, aggregations, and subqueries in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar.
  • Experience building reports in Power BI, SSRS, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on printer, laptop, and end-user hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Networking fundamentals include IP addressing, DNS, and wireless.
  • Clear communication and ability to manage and prioritize several requests.

Preferred qualifications

  • Warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or automotive experience; ERP or WMS exposure.
  • Python, C#, JavaScript, or other scripting/programming experience.
  • Zebra printer, ZPL, handheld scanner, or software rollout/go-live experience.
  • A diploma or degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is listed as a nice-to-have; the source text is truncated.

Growth and development

The first one to two years offer opportunities to deepen SQL and reporting skills, learn code review, testing, and version control, and take an application from rollout through stabilization.

The role offers exposure to warehouse operations and may grow toward broader development work.

A formal performance and development review follows probation, with regular manager check-ins.
